The Miracolous Journey Of Edward Tulane

The Miraculous Journey Of Edward Tulane is about a toy rabbit who is owned by a young girl named Abilene. He is a little conceited and sometimes only thinks about himself. Still he is quite connected with his owner and always wants to be with her. But when Abilene boards a ship to London, a couple of naughty boys steal and play with him and he goes overboard. Through his years without Abilene, Edward learns the lesson of true love and its meaning and value. He experiences love, happiness, death and fear. But by one small thing that he did at the end of his journey, he was able to get back the thing he most wanted.

The main lesson to learn at the end of this story is that you should never take something for granted. Edward took his owner Abilene, for granted. He thought she would always be with him, would always pamper him and buy him new clothes and take care of him. But he was wrong. His adventure taught him that you shouldn't take anything for granted and you should appreciate what you have. Because Edward was able to learn this before it was too late, he got back what he took for granted. That is why too should never take anything for granted. Because what you have today, you might not have tomorrow. So be grateful and appreciative to what you have.

Paragraph with Vocab, SP, and Sensory Details

Mary, a small and eager young child, was reading her fantastic new book. She couldn't wait to read the ultimate ending in which the battle against the pretty princess' and the terrible trolls would occur. As she flipped the yellow rusty colored page, her stomach flipped-flopped and she felt qualms. Her palms were damp with the sweat and as she released the page from her grip, she realized she had crumpled it. But the young and restless girl didn't care. She could feel the tension going through her nerves as Tiana, the water princess, was defeated by hideous troll and his filth. She hopped up and down on her pink carpet and cheered aloud with joy when Rockell, Daisy, and Shaleigh, beat almost half of the troll army. She perused the chapter, thinking about what would happen as a result of the battle. She was sure the princess' would win. After all, they were the pretty and elite ones. But what came as the end shocked her. The hideous, gruesome, nonentity, evil trolls had won! What a terrible fate to the princesses! Mary cried for a long time, so emotional over the twisting conclusion. But she had learned a lesson. The story can't always go as you want it to, and sometimes a twist can help you better understand the author's purpose and theory. And she now knew why the author had made the trolls win.

SENSORY DETAIL PARAGRAPH

As the young adolescent, Tom, walked through the forest, he noticed many brown and white furry creatures scampering through the trees. His feet crunched the golden and flame colored leaves as he made his way home to the warm smell of fresh, crisp bread and hot chocolate. He stopped to the sound of a footstep. It was as if someone was following him, very closely... He could feel the the hot, smelly breath warming the back of his neck. The horrid stench made Tom's nose twitch, and he didn't like that, for now he had given the "object' a hint that he knew someone was behind him. As quick as a lightning bolt could strike the Earth, Tom whirled around in fear and curiosity, not believing what he saw.
